400,000 Thousand Kids Who Need Us

For many of us, the more we care for and nurture children—either as a parent, teacher or a caring adult—the more we recognize the impact that having stable adult role models has on a young person's life. May is the National Foster Care month, a time set apart to focus on the present and future of the 400,000 youth in our country currently in our foster care system.

For these young people, stability is not a given. Yet because of the generosity of foster parents and other involved adults, many children are able to eventually be reunited with their birth parents and/or go on to lead full, healthy, adult lives.

This month, we have the opportunity to learn more about how we can raise awareness of the needs of foster children as well as find out how we can help personally. Perhaps the Lord is even putting it on your heart to foster children now or in the future. If you are already a caretaker of children, then you may very well have the God-given gifts and talents to nurture children in this way.

There are also many other ways that you can help as a professional and supportive member of the community. Discover some ideas here
